Fashion at Your Fingertips; Chic Fall Nail Color from Chanel to Sally Hansen

September 27, 2010

Even a quick glance at any of the red carpet mavens featured above will prove that a “look” is something considered from head to toe, literally. Nail polish is an important style decision that can either compliment or clash with an outfit and like clothing, nail color trends change from season to season.

This fall, Chanel has taken the lead in nail color trends releasing their Khaki collection; 3 colors (Brun, Rose and Vert) with a military aesthetic that hint at the season upon us without overpowering an otherwise cohesive look.

Although Chanel may set the standards, we here at 5s think that its a fairly outrageous to spend $39.99 on a bottle of nail polish (thats nearly a full professional mani-pedi!).  Well fear not frugal fashionistas, we have found some drug store lines of polish that can adorn your digits just as well!

Avon Pro $5.00

Rimmel Steel Grey $3.99

Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear nail color in Wet Cement is a favorite around the 5s office because it is the epitome of a low price, high quality beauty must-have. This at-home polish often lasts about as week (as long as a professional mani) and the chic grey-green has been noticed and complimented everywhere from the office to the grocery store.

So remember ladies, chic style is detail oriented; clean and polished nails can easily make the difference between a head turning fashionista and run of the mill shabby chic.
